Two Sigma is a New York-based hedge fund company known for its strong focus on financial sciences. Applying scientific and engineering principles to finance, they operate at the intersection of data, technology, and innovation. Given their analytical rigor, our team aimed to bring their story to life through creative and engaging storytelling across digital components.
This is Financial Sciences.
To bring Two Sigma’s identity to life, I built an interactive hero using Three.js. Each letter in “Sciences” flips in 3D on hover, revealing a dynamic video that reflects the firm’s data-driven and exploratory approach to finance.
Financial Sciences – Mobile
On mobile, the concept transforms into a rotatable cube with videos mapped to four sides. Built using CSS transforms, the cube rotates vertically as users swipe up or down to reveal new videos. A subtle swing animation hints at its interactivity—inviting exploration through motion.
* Global Control for Accessibility: Two Sigma’s website features a unique Global Control function designed with accessibility in mind. When a user pauses animation, it universally halts all animated components across the site—ensuring a consistent and accessible experience for motion-sensitive users.
Website Accessibility
To support an inclusive digital experience at Two Sigma, we implemented accessibility best practices in collaboration with Allyant. The site was built to align with WCAG 2.1 AA standards, ensuring usability across assistive technologies like screen readers, keyboard navigation, and captions—making the site more accessible to all users.
Entity Template
To support Two Sigma’s diverse business lines—such as Sightway Capital, Real Estate, and Ventures—we developed flexible entity templates that maintain a cohesive brand while offering subtle visual distinctions from the main site. Each entity template includes its own article archive, team page, and customizable layouts. The system is structured to dynamically pull and display data specific to each entity, including team members, articles, and search results.
To streamline content management, we also provided a custom plugin that limits admin access by entity—ensuring, for example, that Real Estate editors can only modify pages and articles related to Real Estate within the CMS.
Patchwork Grid
The Patchwork Grid is an interactive layout designed to showcase team members and projects. Users can filter by role, office, or project type to quickly find relevant content. Clicking a tile reveals detailed information—all easily managed through the CMS.
Article Hub
Designed to improve content discoverability, the Article Hub surfaces featured and latest articles while allowing users to filter by topic and publisher—making it easier to navigate a large volume of content.
Scrolling Data Component
As users scroll, key metrics—such as number of employees, data sources, and servers—animate with a count-up effect. This dynamic interaction highlights Two Sigma’s scale and capabilities while boosting user engagement through visual storytelling.
Timeline Accordion
This interactive accordion layout allows users to click and reveal time-stamped content blocks—ideal for showcasing schedules or event timelines. Each entry supports rich content, including text, images, and linked articles. All content is fully manageable through the CMS, giving admins flexibility to update and curate experiences with ease.
